Debate continues over a possible trail built by and for local anglers to have easier access to Bottle Lake.
The Lanark and District Fish and Game Conservation Club says an area homeowner installed a private gate, limiting access.
But, as Councillor Doug Black explains, the request to create their own path and parking area through county-owned property wasn’t supported by the county’s municipal trails sub-committee.
County Warden John Fenik disagreed when the local club pleaded their case to county.
The club made another appeal, this time to county council, saying they would pay for and maintain the pathway themselves.
After lengthy discussion, council directed staff to create a report around the feasibility of a pathway.
