You’ll still be able to get free COVID-19 rapid tests at some grocery stores and pharmacies in Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville until at least July 31st.
The free test program was supposed to last eight weeks, starting last month, but Health Minister Christine Elliott’s office says they’re extending it.
The rapid-test move comes as the opposition at Queen’s Park calls on the Ford Government to expand access to P-C-R tests for the virus.
Critics have been calling for the province to reinstate access to the P-C-R test, seen as the best at confirming the virus.
They have been restricted to certain high-risk groups since December when the Omicron variant first overwhelmed testing resources.
