The Toronto Star reports that Independent MPP Randy Hillier, who represents, Lanark, Frontenac and Kingston, has turned to supporters to help pay legal bills.
Hillier faces nine charges related to the so-called Freedom Convoy occupation in Ottawa and social media posts. He also faces charges stemming from a number of anti-lockdown and anti-masking rallies across the province.
Hillier was charged by Ottawa police and released on $35,000 bail a week ago. He has also been permanently suspended by Twitter.
Last Thursday an email went out to his supporters asking for donations.
Hillier denies all charges against him and is scheduled to be back in court on May 4th. None of the charges against him have been proven in court.
