Spring and summer means we’ll be interacting more with wildlife.
Health unit spokesperson Rebecca Shams says that elevates the risk of coming into contact with an animal infected with rabies.
Shams says the easiest way to guard against exposure to rabies is prevention.
Stay away from wild, stray or unknown animals. Do not touch or approach an animal when it is eating/drinking, sleeping, caring for its babies, or if it’s sick. Never leave children alone with any animal.
