It doesn’t sound like there will be any changes to the way Student Transportation Eastern Ontario decides to cancel school buses.
STEO, as it is known, recommends the continuation of a system-wide cancellation model to support student and driver safety, driver engagement and continuity of service.
A review took place to see if they’d move to a regional approach to cancelling buses during bad weather, but the second phase of the review, which was presented to the CDSBEO last week, made the suggestion to keep things the way they are.
STEO spoke with bus companies, other transportation groups, and municipalities to help come up with their recommendation.
