Conditions across the Mississippi Valley watershed are considered favourable for the time of year.
The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority says they’re now working to reach summer levels, and don’t expect any flooding.
They do say that the shoreline adjacent to lakes, rivers and creeks is very slippery and poses a serious hazard. So if your Easter long-weekend plans involve a stroll near water, please be very careful.
Falling into open water can result in hypothermia or drowning.
They also say talk to children about the dangers of playing near open water and be sure to keep your pets on leash if you’re walking near a water body.
