Smiths Falls Mayor Shawn Pankow wants tenants in his town, and beyond, to know their rights when it comes to landlords and renovictions.
The term has been coined for tenants being asked to leave rental units so they can be renovated. Landlords then raise the rent to levels the previous tenants often can’t afford.
Pankow says it’s wrong, and anyone in the situation should seek, free, legal help.

The Mayor says its important that landlords and tenants have good relationships, while respecting each others’ rights.
