Brooke Henderson ends first round on a high note, but has work to do to make the cut

For the second straight week, Smiths Falls’ Brooke Henderson has opened a stop on the LPGA tour with a rough round.

She struggled to a 4 over par opening round at the Palos Verdes Championship on the LPGA tour.

Brooke’s 75 featured three bogies, one double bogey, and only one birdie. That birdie came on the 18^th hole meaning she closed out the tough day on appositive note.

Going into round two, Brooke sits 12 back of leader Minjee Lee, tied for 121^st spot.

With the projected cut line at +1, Brooke has some work to do if she wants to avoid missing the cut for the second week in a row.
