The Provincial Ministry of Health has approved the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital’s submission for their new Emergency Department.
That means the long-awaited upgrade is yet another step closer, and Chief of Staff Dr. Allyson Champagne tells Lake 88 news it can’t come soon enough.
The new Emergency Department will be linked to the hospital and will address current space challenges and enhance infection control standards.
Among other things, it includes 11 treatment spaces, which is an increase of 83% over the current setup.
There will also be a private family room and more washrooms. Additional parking will also be provided.
