Sticker fees may be gone, but you still have to renew your license plates – we’ve got you covered

Even though the province has done away with license renewal fees, you’re still responsible for renewing your license plates.

Police remind us that your vehicle must have a valid licence plate and be insured to drive legally in Ontario.

The license plate renewal period varies depending on type of vehicle and if you choose to renew for one or two years and will expire on your birthday – same as the way it was when we were paying.

While renewing your plate, police suggest that you check your license itself to make sure it hasn’t expired.
