Municipal council and school board elections are getting closer, and the nomination process is now underway.
The nomination period was slated to begin yesterday May 1st, but since that was a Sunday candidates were not able to file nomination papers until today when local clerks’ office are open.
The deadline for nominations for both council and school trustee candidates is Friday, August 19th, at 2 p.m.
Many municipalities in our area are using online voting. Those that aren’t but would like to or would like to use another method have until May 1st to pass an appropriate by-law.
Election day is Monday, October 24th.
