Before the election was called, the Province made several funding announcements.
This includes more than $700,000 from the surgical innovation fund for local projects.
Among the projects supported is the orthopedic surgical partnership at Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital with Kingston Health Science Centre. They get $325,551
The province says the money will give hospitals the flexibility they need to perform more surgeries and procedures as they continue to ramp up non-urgent and non-emergent surgeries.
The money is part of the government’s expanded $86.2 million Surgical Innovation Fund that will support 187 projects province-wide.
