It may be some time yet before we see any relief at the gas pumps especially with the busy summer driving season just about here.
Has price guru and leading energy price expert Dan McTeague, President of Canadians for Affordable Energy says prices could see another increase if Russia escalates its attack on Ukraine. That possibility is not off the table.
McTeague says gas prices could go up an additional five cents per litre next week as well if the situation worsens in Ukraine. He also factors in the summer driving season, which basically starts during the May long-weekend, as he makes his forecast.
As of Monday morning, www.gasbuddy.com was reporting the highest price in Perth was $1.99/litre, in Smiths Falls $1.89, Carleton Place $1.99, and Brockville $1.95.
