Take a deep breath before pumping gas today as the price of gas shows no signs of easing.
In our listening area, most were at $1.99 per litre this morning according to gasbuddy.com, while there was at least one station in Carleton Place that rolled their price over to 2 bucks. We don’t expect that to be a unique situation.
And it will affect your bottom line in other ways too.
The Conference Board of Canada says higher gas prices have a cascading effect on all sectors of the economy, mostly due to transportation costs.
That means there’s the potential for lasting consequences on everything from the cost of everyday things like food, to consumer behaviour, like taking trips during the summer.
