Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Organization is offering financial support to help the tourism sector in the region recover from the impact of COVID-19.
The Organization’s Kate Evans tells Lake 88 they’ve launched a special fund, thanks to the provincial and federal governments.
The Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, also known as FedDev Ontario is behind the funding.
There is $2.7 million dollars to distribute, so Evans hopes to get close to 30 businesses and groups apply.
She adds there are a number of possibilities for people who may want to expand to year-round opportunities.
