The OPP patrols a trail in Ontario
With the summer-like weather people are getting back to their summer hobbies like riding ATV’s.
Smiths Falls Police Constable Aaron Tompkins tells Lake 88 its a ppular pass-time.
So, no drinking. At all. It’s the same as driving a car. That goes for penalties and of course the risks.
The constable also say its important that users know where you can ride before heading out.
So, if you forget, refreshing your memory can help in the long run.
Before you head out for the first time of the season, or at least early on, check with municipalities to make sure you’re not breaking any rules.
And he says users have to remember there are shared trails in the region, so please be careful.
Police are all for a great ATV season, just as long as safety of riders and others around them is kept top of mind.
