Road Safety Week is underway: Police are watching for the big four

In addition to Police Week, this is also Road Safety Week.

As Smiths Falls Police Constable Aaron Tompkins tells Lake 88, the big four remain a big problem.

The big four are impaired driving, improper or lack of seatbelt use, distracted driving and speeding.

When it comes to driving impaired, the constable’s message is simple: Don’t.

But for some the message about driving while impaired doesn’t get through.

With the long weekend coming up he says its very important that people looking to indulge in alcohol or cannabis make arrangements for a ride home or just stay over.

You can also expect police forces to be out in force across the province this weekend, as they are every weekend.
