Lanark County OPP are investigating an incident that allegedly involved an airsoft gun after a call to John Street in Carleton Place, Tuesday morning at about 8:30.
They had received a report of a woman in a vehicle holding a gun in a parking lot.
The OPP arrived and took three youth into custody. That’s when they found out the firearm was an airsoft gun – it shoots soft pellets – and didn’t pose a threat to the public.
Nearby schools entered into a condition of hold and secure but that was lifted once police determined there wasn’t a threat.
Police remind us to be diligent when it comes to our personal safety and that of those around us.
