Jacqui visited Lake 88 several times to promote organ donation and fundraising events
There is sad news from Smiths Falls where organ donation champion and philanthropist Jacqui Bowick Sandor has passed away.
Jacqui had been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, a condition that sees lung tissue become damage and scared making it difficult for them to work properly.
Jacqui had struggled with complications since a double lung transplant six years ago.
Even as she faced her own health problems, Jacqui remained dedicated to promoting organ donation, holding countless fundraisers over the years, always with her husband Bruce and countless dedicated friends by her side.
We were lucky enough to speak with Jacqui several times over the years as she raised awareness for her disease and worked to help fund research.
Lake 88 offers our sincere condolences to Bruce, Jacqui’s family, and her friends. our community has lost a valuable member.
