At this week’s Perth town council meeting, Mayor John Fenik started the session off with some proclamations.

The Mayor was joined by representatives from Shriner’s International, a well-known group raising funds for children’s hospitals, to mark June 6th as their 150th anniversary day.

Next up a banner was raised in the council chamber as Mayor Fenik proclaimed June as PRIDE month in Perth in support and celebration of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
To wrap up the announcements, Fenik proclaimed June 19th as The Longest Day of Smiles in recognition of Operation Smile Canada, a global medical charity providing free treatment to children born with cleft conditions around the world.
