Starting Wednesday, the Perth and District Union Library is hosting a Word Walk in partnership with the Local Immigration Partnership.
It’s part of the first annual Culture Connect, a celebration of beauty in diversity and the importance of culture.
The Word Walk will have people hunting for words on signs posted in Last Duel Park in Perth or the Fallbrook Playground in Tay Valley Township. Those words can then be used in a poem of short story to be submitted to the Library for chance to win a prize.
The Library’s Emily Smith tells Lake 88 they’re looking forward to the results.
And she says it will be easy to tell when participants have found a word.
Submissions can be dropped at the library or email to esmith@perthunionlibrary.ca. The walk goes from June 1st through the 23rd.
You can hear the entire interview with Emily below.
