The new playground for Victoria Park
It’s out with the old and in with the new when it comes to playgrounds at Victoria Park and Hyland & Corbett Park in Smiths Falls.
Town Council awarded an RFP of almost $250,000 to see the removal of outdated playground equipment that will be replaced with new-look play structures residents voted for.
Director of Community Services Art Manhire says while the design is laid out, more is coming.
Nearly 1,100 people participated in the consultation through Speak Up Smiths Falls to let council know what they would like to see at the respective parks.
Councillor Niki Dwyer was thrilled to check this task off of the town’s list.
97% of respondents voted in favour of the first design option for Victoria Park, and 75% preferred the first option for and Hyland & Corbett Park as well.
