Police say Online Email and Text Scams are on the rise.
With close to 30,000 reports of fraud as of the end of April this year alone, they want us to have our guard up once again.
The province has joined the chorus of those reminding students and families to use caution to avoid being cyber-crime victims.
They are providing some familiar tips to help us out.
When it comes to your phone, don’t reply to messages, return a call, or click on any links in a text if you don’t recognize the number.
Search the web address or number to verify information and delete messages immediately if you don’t recognize the sender.
If you are the victim of a scam, let police know so they can share the information so others don’t fall for it too.
