At least one Carleton Place town councillor feels that town hall could have done a better job of responding to the recent damaging storm that swept through our region leaving thousands without electrical power.
It was brought up at the most recent town council committee of the whole.
Committee chair, Councillor Jeff Atkinson read a notice of motion from Councillor Linda Seccaspina into the records directing staff to provide council with a review of the Town’s response to the power outages resulting from the May 21ststorm at a forth coming meeting.
There are several issues being raised by the public.
One of them has seen Carleton Place community social media pages populated recently with comments by those who were without power, about being unable to get timely updates on storm and power restoration news without internet access.
All residents in the area are reminded that they can tune to Lake 88.1 FM in any emergency for the latest information.
