Local Group: The War in Ukraine wages on, the need to help is greater than ever

The war rages on in Ukraine and people there continue to flee the Russian invasion. The group Smiths Falls Welcomes Ukraine hopes the situation remains top of mind for people here.

That’s Committee Chair Mark Czubac who spoke to us about the group’s fundraising efforts.

They are appealing to the public for donations as they work to bring families, mostly women and children to the safety of Smiths Falls.

Czubac tells us the money will pay to get them here.

The money will also help pay for basic needs once they arrive.
