Major assist for multi-use sports pad in Carleton Place

The proposed multi-use sports pad in Carleton Place got a major boost this weekend, thanks to the efforts of the OPP Carleton Place detachment, town staff, and Canadian Tire store owner Stuart Vandervaart.

Stuart and Peter Hicks were on hand to present a cheque for $150K to the cause.

The donation was on behalf of Stuart’s and Peter’s families and Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart Charities.

Stuart says sports rallies the community.
