The Le Boat docks in Smiths Falls
The Town of Smiths Falls agreed in principle to the purchase of additional docks to support the expansion of Le Boat in Victoria Basin.
Le Boat added six more boats this year bringing their total to 30, and will be adding four more in 2023.
Mayor Shawn Pankow said it’s a no-brainer to continue to work with them, especially since local boaters can use the docks too.
CAO Malcom Morris said there was importance to this motion as he told council Le Boat was looking at other options along the Rideau for their expanded fleet.
Negotiations continue between the town and the company towards a new docking agreement with the current one set to expire October 31st.
