
At Carleton Place council’s committee of the whole meeting this week, councillors and the public got a first detailed look at a new subdivision in the lands south of Hwy 7 and east of 15.
Uniform Urban Developments is applying to build 431 residential units on the east side of Hwy 15, just south of Hwy 7. Their proposal would set aside almost 3.5 ha for a future school and parkland.
The heavy proportion of townhouses in the plan sparked comments from Mayor Doug Black.
Council has received plenty of negative feedback on current dense subdivision projects already underway and is accepting public comments on a proposal to build two apartment buildings on the historic Findlay Foundry property.
