With so many home renovation projects underway, many are asking how to dispose of things like paint after the project is done.
The town of Smiths Falls is reminding residents not to throw household hazardous waste in with your regular garbage and recycling.
That includes paint, paint thinner and many other non-renovation related items.
They say it can be taken to the Household Hazardous Waste Site at 128 Patterson Crescent, in Carleton Place. Thanks to a deal in place, its free for Smiths Falls residents, and from many other surrounding communities too.
The site is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 12 noon, between May 21, 2022 and September 3, 2022.
Things like auto oil, flammable liquids, batteries, and propane cylinders, are also accepted.
