A wellness trail is coming to the Alameda in Mississippi Mills.
The Alameda is part of the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail and sits in Almonte. It is a community-led project to beautify the old railyards.
The trail will include an age-friendly tai chi wheel, exercise bench and an upright bike, but Mississippi Mills mayor Christa Lowry said that’s not the only part of the project.
Age Friendly North Lanark Committee, Carebridge Community Support, All My Relations and the St. Paul Anglican Church have partnered up for the $116,000 project, which involved no county or municipal funds.
Overall the trail will have 6-7 stops throughout town.
