Labour action will slow sidewalk installation at big Bridge St. project in Carleton Place

Carleton Place says that a strike will affect one part of the Bridge Street reconstruction project.

Louis Bray, the Town’s contractor, said effective at 12:00 a.m. yesterday morning, the subcontractor responsible for the installation of concrete sidewalks has been impacted by a strike.

They note that this is the only subcontractor on the big project affected.

Work on both Bridge Street and the Central Bridge is continuing, with the exception of the sidewalk installation.

Both the contractor and town are looking at alternate approaches to make sure the schedule isn’t compromised.
