Every year Business Agriculture Programs students from Algonquin College’s Perth Campus go out in the field to learn the business during Agriculture Experience Week.
Keith Bean of Bean Chevrolet GMC Buick is one the people who brought the program to the school. He is also the chair of the program’s advisory committee and is giving away a truck through a raffle to help with the week’s expenses.
Perth Dean Chris Hahn tells us the curriculum developed by Bean and others is specific to agriculture.
Bean and others who pushed for the program wanted to make sure that proper agriculture education was available in Eastern Ontario after the closure of Kemptville College several years ago.
The program now has had four intakes and is growing every year.
