The OPP says is reminding all drivers to be safe during the busy summer months, and adds that traffic safety remains a top priority for the force and the hope is that everyone will make it to their destination safely.
Sadly, six people in Eastern Ontario did not this weekend.
One was in our listening area, another nearby.
On Saturday morning shortly after 6 am, Lanark County OPP say a 63-year-old motorcycle rider was killed after a single vehicle collision on Highway 511 near Tatlock Road in Lanark Highlands Township. Police have not released the victim’s name.
That same day, Frontenac OPP investigated a fatal collision involving a bicycle on Highway 15 in Kingston. The bike was struck by a motor vehicle. The 90-year-old cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges yet in the second collision, as police continue to investigate both.
