Here we go again…. food prices set to rise in the fall

Get set to see higher prices as you step into grocery stores this fall.

For many in Lanark, Leeds and Grenville, higher food costs are the last thing we need as inflation soars, and household budgets get tighter.

Canadian food suppliers have sent letters to retailers saying the increases are coming in September.

The hike comes as we have dealing with almost double digit increases in food costs this year.

Statistics Canada says the price of food purchased at stores rose 9.7% in May compared to a year ago, as the cost of nearly everything we put into our carts went up.
