Last week we told you about a group of Health, environment, and food organizations in Lanark, Leeds and Grenville that is calling on all municipal election candidates to include food security in the platforms.
We spoke with Ramsey Hart of the Table, a local representative in the group who says local governments deal with many factors affecting the issue.
Hart says local governments can help a lot, especially when it comes to the root of the problem for many.
He says food security is related affordability challenges, that are affecting more people than ever before.
Hart is also pushing for more people to get out and vote after lower turnouts in the last provincial election, and last municipal election in 2018.
