The first of four Ukrainian families coming to the Smiths Falls area thanks to the Smiths Falls welcomes Ukraine Committee is now here.
The other three are expected by October of this year.
The first family, a mother and her two daughters, are now learning about their new lives and getting to know their host family.
The group says volunteers will be mobilized in the coming weeks and months to help the new arrivals.
