As of today, parents can book COVID-19 vaccination appointments in the province for children as young as six months old.
Jenny Vandermeer, Health Unit Operations Manager of the COVID-19 vaccination program says the dose they’re getting is catered to the age group.
She also says that its a good idea even if your child has already had COVID-19.
Initially, supply at the health unit will be low. But they’ll be getting a more robust supply in the weeks to come and their clinics for the age group will ramp up.
If you’d like to book through the health unit you’re asked to please call the call-centre at 1-844-369-1234 and not the online option.
Vandermeer says family physicians, nurse practitioners and pharmacies are an option. You can call yours to see what is on hand.
