There wasn’t much about a plan to deal with healthcare in this week’s Throne Speech at Queen’s Park.
Here’s what Perth’s Dr. Alan Drummond, who is also the Co-chair of the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians, had to say about it.
Dr. Drummond says it seems like little has been done, even though the problem has gotten worse in recent months.
And he says there are plenty of ideas out there.
Drummond says a key to keeping staffing levels where they need to be is to treat workers properly, particularly overworked nurses.
Proper mental health supports and scrapping any wage increase limits are two things that would go a long way to making that happen.
