The Rotary Club in Smith Falls is celebrating 100 years.
They’re hosting a banquet on September 28th at the Smiths Falls Golf and Country Club to mark the occasion.
The town’s Rotary Club has supported many initiatives in Smiths Falls with hundreds of thousands of dollars raised over the years.
In keeping with the principal of service above self, the Club is presenting the final installment of a $25,000 donation to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
Club President Stewart Blair says, “The Rotary Club of Smiths Falls has used the past two years to reimagine what Rotary can be and are excited about what the next 100 years will bring.”
It’s not all good for local Rotarians though, the club in Perth ceased operations this summer due to a lack of new members.
