The longest serving commissioner in Central Canada Hockey League history is stepping down after this season.
The league announced Tuesday Kevin Abrams put forth his resignation last week to Chairman Steve Barban.
Over his 17 years the CCHL added two franchises in the addition of the Kemptville 73’s and the Carleton Place Canadians, and a pair of relocations of teams to Renfrew and Rockland.
In a statement the league said they’ll be working on a transition plan to ensure continued success, and more information will come as things progress.
