Michelle Reid’s piece, Food Bank Garden Tomatoes (below) has won the 2022 Rideau Artist of the Year competition.
The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum announced the winner after the competition was held earlier this month.
All mediums were invited to compete for the title, and the $1,000 prize. Thirty artists attended the two-day event and each created art inspired by the picturesque grounds of the museum.
A jury of art professionals acted as judges picking Reid’s piece.
Reid said she was “so surprised and excited to accept the title of Rideau Artist of the Year,” while adding that the event drew some talented artists.
All works are on display at the Heritage House Museum until October 9th.
