The OPP is warning about what should be posted on social media as the first day of school approaches.
They say with the return to class comes a lot of back to school photos and social media posts, usually with the student holding a sign with some details on their upcoming school year.
The OPP notes that while social media is a great place to share things with friends and family, they’d like you to be careful about sharing too much. Too much information can be dangerous in the hands of predators and fraudsters.
Instead of posting information like which school they’re attending, the grade, teacher’s name or age, keep it simple with limited information, or no sign at all.
Keep the shots with the signs to your friends and family.
