The town of Carleton Place is getting a Pride Crosswalk.
Town staff consulted with the local LGBTQ2S+ community and CP Pride group and decided to installing a permanent Pride crosswalk at either a downtown location, or one within the Mississippi Transitional Sector.
It’s expected to be completed by June of next year which is Pride Month.
Council unanimously approved the idea at their last meeting in August.
Smiths Falls will be installing one of the rainbow crosswalks too once the redevelopment of Beckwith St. Is complete.
