Local Emergency Department issues continue – Kemptville resumes 24/7 service Tuesday

The Kemptville Emergency Department is due to re-open Tuesday morning after being closed nightly since last Wednesday evening.

The plan is to re-open it to regular, 24 hour operation, at 7 AM.

This follows another closure by the Carleton Place ER which shut its doors Saturday night. They re-opened Sunday morning.

In both cases the blame is going to the issue that has plagued hospitals across the region, province and country, staffing issues.

The province has pledged to fix the issue, but is asking for much more funding from the Feds to make it happen.
