Adults in Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville can now book their fall booster COVID-19 vaccine shots.
The health unit’s vaccine specialist, Jenny Vandermeer says it makes sense with a busy travel and holiday season not too far off.
Appointments are being made for the latest version of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine, the bivalent vaccine, which offers stepped up protection against the Omicron variant.
Vandermeer says they expect to have a good stock on hand.
They have also stopped numbering doses and are instead calling this shot the fall booster.
Its ideal to wait six months between shots, but you can get one if you’re last shot was three months ago.
