The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital’s birthing unit remains closed at the Smiths Falls site due to core staff reporting off on an unexpected medium-term medical leave.
Hospital CEO and President Michael Cohen tells us thankfully they can plan ahead with their patients, unlike when they had to close the ER in Perth.
Cohen says they will of course still handle any emergencies concerning pregnancies, adding no one will be turned away.
