The town of Perth is reminding residents and visitors that the town is an idle-free zone and has an anti-idling bylaw.
The reminder notes that Idling vehicles are harmful to the environment and our health as vehicle exhaust contains air pollutants that contribute to smog, acid rain, climate change, and other environmental issues.
They add that an average vehicle will waste over 1 cup of fuel for every 10 minutes of idling.
So they ask that you remember to please turn your engine off when possible to avoid unnecessary idling and help keep the air clean.
