Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston MP Scott Reid has proposed two options to the original changes to the boundaries of his riding suggested by the Electoral Boundaries Commission.
The commission looks at boundaries after every census to ensure proper representation in Ottawa.
Their plan would see Greater Madawaska, Merrickville-Wolford, Westport and a portion of Elizabethtown-Kitley included in the riding, while dropping the northern part of Kingston.
One of Reid’s suggestions includes moving Kingston to Leeds-Grenville, while the other would keep it but move Smiths Falls to the riding to level the population.
Smiths Falls council is set to discuss the ideas tonight.
