The OPP confirm last night’s collision in Rideau Lakes, south of Smiths Falls involved a fatality.
At about 6:30 Tuesday evening, officers responded to the call on Highway 15 south of Poonamalie Road, involving three vehicles.
The lone occupant of one of them, a yet-to-be-identified 52-year-old from Orleans was pronounced dead at the scene. Two occupants of a second involved vehicle were airlifted to hospital by Ornge Air Ambulance with serious injuries. The driver of the third involved vehicle was uninjured.
Leeds County OPP continues to investigate with the assistance of OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and Reconstructionist.
Highway 15 was closed for several hours overnight but has since completely reopened.
