The Town of Smiths Falls says that after seven months of construction, Beckwith Street North between Russell Street and Elmsley will re-open to traffic by end of day Friday.
Paul McMunn, Director of Public Works & Utilities said in a release that “Line painting and pavement markings took place during the unseasonable warm weather on the weekend of October 22nd.”
We know that much of one lane of pavement was lifted after it had been poured too, no reason is given.
The Beckwith revitalization project began in 2019 with Phase one from Chambers St. To Russell.
Its more than just cosmetic. Underground infrastructure has been replaced and other features updated.
